Kuwait announced today 851 new Covid19 positive cases, 1,230 recovery and 7 deaths, for a total 27,043 cases, 11,386 recovery and 212 deaths, recovery rate is 42.1% and deaths 0.78%.
Today’s figures included 86 of the Bangladeshi community, bringing the total number to 3,061 cases, including 8 deaths announced officially, and its took 10 days to reach the third thousand cases of Covid19 among the community today, 22 days to reach second thousand on May 22, 46 days to reach the first thousand on May 11.
First Bangladeshi case recorded on March 27 and it was under epidemiological investigation, while the first death in the community was announced on April 18 for a patient who was receiving intensive care for 9 days and died at the age of 68, and there are 1,701 cases announced in May up to today by 80% of total cases.
Total cases announced in Kuwait includes 47 nationalities, the highest of which is until today is the Indian community by 30.7%, Kuwaitis 19.7%, Egyptian community 17.5%, other nationalities unspecified by the Ministry of Health 17.5%, Bangladeshi community 11.3%.(you can see the rate of increasing number of cases on this link)
A comparison between today and last report on May 22, Indian and Egyptian communities dropped by 1.6% and 1.2%, Kuwaitis increased by 1.5% and Bangladeshi community by 0.4%. May ended with 23,019 new Covid19 positive cases out of 27,043, which equals 6 times the total number of cases recorded in February, March and April combined, that is still a worrying increase, and expected to be the peak of the ascending wave beginning, knowing that 6 days of May announced more than a thousand cases, 18 days more than 500 and 7 days less than 500 cases, which lifted the daily average up to 276 cases, since announcing the first Covid19 positive in Kuwait by a Kuwaiti citizen came back from Iran on February 24.
Since May 4, the Ministry of Health declined to mention any data related to some cases infected with the Corona virus in Kuwait, whether in terms of the type of infection if it was in contact or under epidemiological investigation of unknown source as well as the nationalities, in addition to its withhold to provide data of deaths which were previously provided such as nationality, age, gender, and time spent in the intensive care.
Social Watcher team had previously alerted the Ministry of Health’s decision to withhold information regarding the size of the virus outbreak among communities and its daily growth rate for the public and those interested, in light of the rising numbers, and the team renews the alert today recording 23,019 cases in May out of 27,043, constituting 85.1%.
Since May 4, the total cases which the Ministry of Health deliberately withheld data reached 4,730 cases and 172 deaths, Social Watcher team indicates that the Ministry continuation in this approach will increase the total number of unknown cases, and at some point it will exceed more than half of the cases, which will affect the credibility of the ministry and the transparency of its handling of this matter.

Kuwait announced today 955 new Covid19 positive cases, 310 recovery and 9 deaths, for a total 19,564 cases, 5,515 recovery and 138 deaths, recovery rate is 28.2% and deaths 0.7%.
Today’s figures included 111 of the Bangladeshi community, bringing the total number to 2,105 cases, including 8 deaths, and its took 22 days to reach the second thousand cases of Covid19 among the community today, 46 days to reach the first thousand on May 11.
The first Bangladeshi case recorded on March 27 and it was under epidemiological investigation, while the first death in the community was announced on April 18 for a patient who was receiving intensive care for 9 days and died at the age of 68, and there are 1,701 cases announced in May up to today by 80% of total cases.

Today, Kuwait recorded 598 new cases of coronavirus, 178 recoveries and 7 deaths, taking the total number to 9,286 cases, 2907 recoveries and 65 deaths, bringing the recovery rate to infection 31.1% and death 0.7%.
Today’s figures included 87 of the Bangladeshi community, bringing the total number to 1017 cases, including 8 deaths, and it takes 46 days to reach the first thousand cases of Coronavirus among the Bangladeshi community, where the first infection was announced in the community on March 27 and it was under epidemiological investigation, while the first death in the community was announced on April 18 for a patient who was receiving intensive care for 9 days and died at the age of 68, while yesterday’s number was the highest in which 143 cases were recorded from the Bangladeshi community out of 1065 cases recorded yesterday (13.4% of yesterday’s total).
As of yesterday, Kuwait imposed a total curfew until May 30, to reduce the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

A comparison between the numbers today and yesterday, Social Watcher team noticed a decline in the percentage of the Indian community’s cases by 1% and Kuwaitis by 0.3% in one day, compared to the rise of the Egyptian community’s rate by 0.4% in one day, and the Bangladeshi community, which today exceeded a thousand cases, and yesterday recorded 10.7% while today 11.2%, in an increase in Its rate with 0.5% in one day, which confirms the spread of the virus among other communities not announced in the Ministry of Health daily briefing, which confirms what was previously alerted by Social Watcher team. Kuwait reached the ninth thousand cases of coronavirus today in one day, and the eighth during yesterday on May 10, the seventh thousand in 2 days on May 8, and the sixth within 2 days on May 6, the fifth within 4 days on May 4, and the fourth within 4 days on April 30, And the third in 5 days on April 26, and the second thousand in 10 days on April 21, and it took 43 days to reach the first thousand cases recorded on April 11.
The total recorded Coronavirus cases in Kuwait during 11 days of May 5262 cases accounted for 56.7% of the total number of cases, which is a worrying increase were more than half of the cases recorded within 11 days compared to 43.3% of cases recorded Over 3 months, February, March and April combined.
On April 6, the Kuwaiti government announced the imposition of complete isolation of the areas of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Mahboula, to reduce the outbreak of the Coronavirus, and a number of Kuwaiti government agencies took measures to secure the housing of their employees and contract workers who were affected by the isolation of the two areas in other regions at the expense of the state to ensure their safety and not mixing with others and the possibility of their infection .
